Manchester is one of the best cities in the UK, according to a top travel publication.
Luxury travel magazine Condé Nast Traveller have released the results of their 2019 readers awards, and have named the city as one of the top 10 in Britain.
The award-winning glossy is the highest circulating consumer travel magazine in the UK, and its annual awards celebrate the best hotels and destinations, travel companies and operators.
This year the publication joined up with its sister title in the USA, creating a transatlantic awards in which a record 600,000 registered voters took part.
Participants were asked to vote for what they thought was the best city in the UK.
And from all 51 cities in Britain, only 10 made the cut - with Manchester claiming the tenth spot on the coveted list.
The magazine describes Manchester as a "streetwise northern city" that is "humming with energy."
It also notes the "shiny new architecture, cultural landmarks and innovative restaurants and bars"
The best cities in the UK as voted for by Condé Nast Traveller ’s readers in the Readers’ Choice Awards 2019 are:
