Travel disruption warning for motorists as Lanarkshire road set for five-day closure

By Ian Bunting

Coatbridge motorists are warned to expect travel disruption as a road in the town will be closed for five days next week.

Riddell Street will shut from Monday, May 16, to Friday, May 20, from property six to Wilson Street.

This is to allow for drainage investigation works and motorists can use Quarry Street, Agnew Avenue and Lavelle Drive as alternative routes.

And a 24-hour closure will be in place on another Coatbridge road from midnight on May 22.

This will be on the A89 Glasgow Road (westbound only), between the roundabouts at Drumpellier Business Park and Oakridge Road.

Diversions for drivers will include the A89 Bank Street, Townhead Road, the A752 Gartcosh Road and Blair Road.

Head here for more details on Lanarkshire roadworks and road closures.
