Trapped man rescued by firefighters after lorry crashes with car

Firefighters used a ladder to free a trapped man after a crash between a lorry and car, near Tyntesfield.

Police, paramedics and fire crews were called to the collision at around 3.30pm, today (July 16), on Clevedon Road.

A 57-year-old man was rescued by firefighters using a platform ladder.

Crews from Nailsea and Avonmouth attended the accident.

The route was closed while emergency services helped the victims and has since been reopened.

An Avon Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "We were called at 3.30pm to an RTC involving a HGV and a private vehicle.

"A 57-year-old was rescued using a platform ladder.

"Ambulance and police were in attendance."
