BENGALURU: A 32-year-old supervisor with a private transport firm died after a speeding truck rammed his scooter from behind and later ran over him at Hejjala Gate near Bidadi, off Mysore Road, on Thursday night.
The deceased is Vijay Kunal, a resident of Kumbalagodu and from Mademakki village in Kundapur taluk.
Police said the accident occurred around 9pm when Kunal was returning home from his workplace. An allegedly speeding truck moving towards the city from Mysuru side rammed Kunal’s scooter. He fell on the road, and the rear wheels of the truck ran over his waist. The truck driver didn’t stop his vehicle and sped away.
Kuna’s colleague Harsha S, who was coming in another two-wheeler, rushed to him and found him dead. Bidadi police have registered a case against the truck driver. tnn
