Transport for London’s Twitter account repeatedly sends out bizarre ‘Morpheus’ tweet to followers

Transport for London’s main Twitter account has sent out a series of bizarre tweets to its followers, simply saying “Morpheus”.

The transport operator for London’s social media account was taken over by a set of tweets that repeatedly said the name four times.

TfL’s account, with 2.39 million followers, deleted the tweets shortly afterward, but not in time for eagle-eyed followers to miss it.

Several people commented on the strange tweets replying “What?”.

The tweets were posted on Wednesday afternoon (Twitter)

A spokesman for TfL assured the account had not been hacked.

The unusual tweets were put out “purely just by error” and it was “nothing more sinister than that”.

The tweets were not in reply to anyone specific, either, and had been sent from the main account.
