Transport Canberra bus T-boned in Lyneham, passenger taken to hospital

A sedan T-boned a Transport Canberra bus at a Lyneham intersection about midday on Friday.

Ambulance and fire and rescue crews attended the scene at the intersection of Cossington Smith Crescent and Ellenborough Street. Paramedics assessed five people for injuries, and one person was transported to Calvary Hospital in a stable condition.

The patient was a passenger on the bus. It is understood they were in shock.

Police also attended the scene, and urged motorists to avoid the immediate area after the accident. The vehicles were blocking the northbound lane of Ellenborough Street, but were cleared by about 1.40pm.

It was unclear how many passengers were on the Transport Canberra bus, or how damaged it was.

A police spokesman said no arrests were made.
