Transport bosses strike again with hilarious Manchester United v Barcelona traffic warning

Transport bosses have again had some fun with a Barcelona-themed traffic warning ahead of their clash against Manchester United.

The Catalan giants face Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's men in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final on Wednesday.

The roads in the city centre and around Old Trafford are expected to be extremely busy ahead of the match, which kicks-off at 8pm.

And Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM) have issued a pun-filled message to drivers ahead of the visit of Lionel Messi and co.

After Solskjaer's appointment as permanent United boss a fortnight ago they flashed up a messaging saying "Ole's at the wheel. Keep your hands on yours."

Then last week they showed a message saying: "Manchester City vs Cardiff under 23s. Weds 3rd April. Delays expected" a reference to Cardiff boss Neil Warnock's threat to play youth players at the Etihad in protest at refereeing decision.

A TfGM spokesman said: “We are looking forward to welcoming Barcelona fans to Manchester for what’s sure to be another entertaining night of European football.

“Whether heading to the ground or not, roads and public transport will be busier than usual and we would encourage people to plan their journey accordingly by visiting our website or following our social media channels for the latest information and advice.”

United will be looking to get a result to take to the Nou Camp for the second leg on Tuesday April 16.
