'Transparent' writers reportedly prepping for season without Jeffrey Tambor after harassment allegation

NEW YORK _ "Transparent" may be losing its lead.

The writers on the hit Amazon show "have contemplated" moving forward for the fifth season without Jeffrey Tambor, according to Deadline.

The 73-year-old actor has been accused of "inappropriate behavior" by former assistant Van Barnes, a transgender woman who worked for him from 2014 until this year.

Tambor denied the allegations.

"I am aware that a former disgruntled assistant of mine has made a private post implying that I had acted in an improper manner toward her," he said in a statement.

"I adamantly and vehemently reject and deny any and all implication and allegation that I have ever engaged in any improper behavior toward this person or any other person I have ever worked with. I am appalled and distressed by this baseless allegation."

"Transparent" creator Jill Soloway said she and her team are fully cooperating with Amazon's investigation.

"Anything that would diminish the level of respect, safety and inclusion so fundamental to our workplace is completely antithetical to our principles," she said in a statement.

No action has been taken against Tambor yet, but networks have been swift in handing down punishment after recent sexual misconduct claims.

Kevin Spacey was fired from Netflix's "House of Cards" and FX cut ties with Louis C.K., among others.
