Translink workers gather to protest in Belfast against "false allegations"

Translink workers have gathered in a protest in Belfast today.

This afternoon saw Translink employees protest outside the Unite Union Offices on Antrim Road.

According to those protesting, the reason behind it was because they had been "repeatedly ignored" by Unite Management who they allege made "false allegations" against them.

A spokesperson for the protest said: "We are protesting here today because we have been repeatedly ignored by Unite Management regarding false allegations made against us on Unite headed paper and their conduct and handling of this matter.

"From the outset all we asked for was transparency and accountability for our members, these requests were repeatedly ignored and false allegations made against us for speaking out.

"We are asking that the General Secretary intervene to ensure a transparent investigation into these false allegations and the conduct of Unite Management."
