Translink timetables to change as additional train services launched

Translink have announced a number of service and timetable changes across Northern Ireland that will come into effect from next week.

Under the changes, capacity has been improved for peak commuter trains, as well as at weekends, to meet customer demand, and additional Saturday night trains have been added to NI Railways timetable.

The new timetable will see changes to four main lines that will be introduced from Sunday, 8 December.

The new services include a new early morning train from Bangor to Belfast which departs at 6.57am, calling all stops to Lanyon Place.

Other adjustments include six carriage trains on the weekend services from Derry to Belfast, while there will also be increased capacity for those socialising in Belfast on Saturday evening, with a new 10.22pm service from Lanyon Place to Newry.

Last year, NI Railways carried 15.8million passenger journeys, an increase of 5.6% on the previous year and the highest in its 50-year history.

Translink are encouraging passengers to familiarise themselves with the new timetables, which are available on their website: https://www.translink.co.uk/timetables and through their journey planner app.
