Translink statement as signalling fault resolved and train services resume

Disruption to some train services north of Belfast has been resolved this morning after a couple of hours of disruption.

Due to a signalling fault, passengers were earlier advised that services north of Belfast were impacted, affecting both the Larne and Derry lines.

Train services between Derry and Ballymena were unaffected, and passengers were able to continue to travel.

A limited bus substitution service was provided for passengers travelling between Ballymena and Belfast while the issue was resolved.

An update from Translink on Saturday morning read: "Translink is advising all passenger that the earlier signalling issues on the train line north of Belfast have now been resolved and services are returning to normal.

“Our engineers have worked quickly and repaired the fault to allow services to resume for passengers using the Derry and Larne line services.

“We would like to thank all our passengers for their patience and apologise for any inconvenience caused."

"For timetable information, passengers should use the Translink Journey planner, website www.translink.co.uk or call the contact centre on 028 9066 6630."
