Glass manufacturing giant NSG Group has announced a transformation of its corporate structure and a host of executive office changes.
The Japanese-owned group, which includes Lancashire firm Pilkington as a subsidiary, revealed the news on Wednesday morning, which will see a new role of chief transformation officer created.
That role will be filled by current head of the automotive strategic business unit (SBU) Tony Fradgley, who will promote group-wide cost structure transformation and business and operational efficiency improvements.
That's as well as a new 'creative technology' SBU, which will be in charge of the group's growth strategy.
It will incorporate every area of the current 'technical glass' SBU except for the 'fine glass division' and the business innovation centre organisation.
As well as that, Rob Purcell has been appointed to replace Mr Fradgley as a senior executive officer and head of the automotive SBU.
Other changes to the board effective from October 1 will be Satoshi Ishino's role changed to chief development officer, head of creative technology SBU and head of the business innovation centre.
Hiroshi Nishikawa will become transformation director for Asia and head of the fine glass division, while Phil Wilkinson will become head of the automotive SBU.
Pilkington was taken over by NSG in 2006, and the wider group has various sites in St Helens and Ormskirk - as well as others in the West Midlands, Hertfordshire, Cambridge, Redditch and Kent.
