Sports Illustrated rounds up the latest transfer rumors and gossip from around the world.
Premier League

Liverpool’s reluctance to meet Paris Saint-Germain’s demands over winger Bradley Barcola has led to Arsenal considering an attempt to hijack the deal. The Gunners have the finances to do so, having set aside significant funds for their failed pursuit of Vinícius Júnior. (Source: Football Insider)
Lewis Hall remains keen to join Manchester United and the left back has reiterated that wish to Newcastle United. (Source: The Sun)
Aston Villa have launched a move for Juventus striker Jonathan David, whose exit would allow the Serie A giants to finally press ahead with their plan to sign Joshua Zirkzee from Man Utd. (Source: Tuttomercatoweb)
Another striker of interest to Aston Villa is Chelsea’s Nicolas Jackson, valued at $69 million (£51 million) by the Blues and admired by Tottenham Hotspur. (Source: Ekrem Konur)
Manchester City “would love” to reunite manager Enzo Maresca with Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernández but will only pursue a move once Rodri’s proposed exit moves much closer to completion. (Source: TEAMtalk)
However, at this stage of the transfer window, Chelsea expect Fernández to remain at the club and will raise their asking price above $162 million (£120 million) after the Premier League season gets underway. (Source: The Athletic)
Chelsea also have no interest in selling winger Mykhailo Mudryk permanently this summer, but are considering options to send the Ukraine winger out on loan. (Source: GIVEMESPORT)
A loan to Strasbourg has been proposed, but Mudryk would rather join another Premier League team. Plenty of interest has been registered across Europe. (Source: BBC Sport)

La Liga
Rodri’s decision to join Barcelona over Real Madrid had nothing to do with finances as both clubs committed to a four-year deal worth $17 million (€15 million) annually. The midfielder made his decision based solely on the locker room he would rather be part of. (Source: Ramón Álvarez de Mon)
Barcelona are now exploring ways to replace center back Ronald Araújo following his loan to Liverpool, with four options under consideration. Tottenham’s Cristian Romero, Athletic Club’s Aymeric Laporte and Inter’s Alessandro Bastoni are seen as potential signings, while 21-year-old Álvaro Cortés could be promoted to the senior side. (Source: Fichajes)
But interest in a new center back sparked a heated argument between manager Hansi Flick and Jules Koundé. The Frenchman has been preferred at right back but has long made it clear he wants to play centrally and was left livid to hear his wish will still not be granted. As a result, he is considering leaving. (Source: Juan Jesus)
Arsenal are among the teams to have shown interest in Koundé. (Source: El Nacional)
Real Madrid had the chance to pursue Arsenal midfielder Martín Zubimendi earlier this summer but declined to do so, believing he is not the right fit for the team’s long-term project. (Source: Látigo Serrano)
