Wednesday January 2 transfer news and rumours

Much of the activity focusses on Stamford Bridge today, with Chelsea having completed their first signing of the window: the £57.5million signing of Christian Pulisic from Borussia Dortmund.

The US international, who becomes the club's third most expensive signing, has signed a five-and-a-half-year deal but will return to Dortmund on loan for the remainder of the season.

Christian Eriksen is stalling on signing a new contract with Tottenham following a fresh offer from the club last month.

Elsewhere, Mesut Ozil's agent has described speculation linking the Arsenal star with a January transfer window exit as "unfortunate", and insists that the German playmaker will remain in north London.

Monaco are hopeful of sealing a January transfer for Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas, while Wolves are interested in signing Tammy Abraham.

Inter Milan hope to sign Man Utd full-back Ashley Young on a free transfer when his contract expires in the summer, reports The Mirror.

We understand that Fulham are closing in on a deal for Chelsea defender Gary Cahill, who has played just 21 minutes in the Premier League this term.

Tuesday January 1 transfer news and rumours

Juventus are confident of agreeing a pre-contract with Arsenal star Aaron Ramsey worth £31m over four years, according to the Times.

The Italian side are one of a number of Europe’s top clubs interested in signing the Wales international.

Meanwhile, Tottenham are braced for renewed interest in two of their midfielders, according to the Daily Mail.

Mousa Dembele – who is expected to leave in the summer – is attracting renewed interest from the Chinese Super League, while West Brom are hoping to sign Victor Wanyama on loan.

Staying with Spurs, the Telegraph report that PSG will join the race for centre back Toby Alderweireld.

And that move from the French giants could perhaps explain Man Utd’s reported interest in Newcastle captain Jamaal Lascelles, who has been linked with a move to Old Trafford by the Daily Mirror.

Liverpool striker Dominic Solanke has had a medical with Crystal Palace ahead of his loan move, reports The Mail.

Watford insist Abdoulaye Doucoure is not for sale at any price in the January transfer window amid interest from PSG, reports The Mirror.

Fulham boss Claudio Ranieri is keen on Croatia World Cup defender Domagoj Vida, according to The Mirror.

German club RB Leipzig have joined the race to sign Chelsea's 18-year-old winger Callum Hudson-Odoi, according to Kicker in Germany.

The Mirror says Manchester City are tracking Real Betis full-back Junior Firpo but face a battle with Real Madrid for his signature.

Chelsea have offered over £45m to sign Christian Pulisic next summer, but Borussia Dortmund are in no rush as they await rival offers, reports ESPN.

Bayern Munich are preparing a £13m offer for Chelsea's Callum Hudson-Odoi, according to The Mail.

Crystal Palace could allow Alexander Sorloth to continue his development in Belgium with Gent, reports the Guardian.

The Times report Liverpool are hoping to secure a £75m-a-year kit deal when their contract with New Balance runs out at the end of the season.

Tottenham are more wary of the threat posed by Real Madrid than Manchester United in their fight to keep manager Mauricio Pochettino, according to The Telegraph.

The Mail reports Tottenham are hoping to raise £75million from player sales in January, with Mousa Dembele and Victor Wanyama among those set to depart.

Gonzalo Higuain is keen on joining Chelsea in January after asking Juventus for permission to make the move to Stamford Bridge, according to The Sun.

Chelsea hope to beat Liverpool to the signing of Nabil Fekir, says The Mail.

Fekir's proposed £52m move to Anfield collapsed in the summer and the Blues now hope to tie up a deal in time for next summer.

Liverpool are preparing a £31m January swoop for Eden Hazard's brother Thorgan from Borussia Monchengladbach, according to The Sun.

Real Madrid have offered Chelsea Isco and Mateo Kovacic in a swap deal for Eden Hazard, reports The Star.

Tottenham midfielder Mousa Dembele is a target for by Monaco boss Thierry Henry, reports The Sun.

West Ham have had a £6.5m bid for former Cardiff man Gary Medel rejected by Besiktas, according to The Sun.

Manchester United target Kalidou Koulibaly has agreed a new contract with Napoli, according to Football Italia.

Wilfried Zaha has been offered a move to Chinese side Dalian Yifang worth £44m, reports The Mail.

Chelsea players believe Eden Hazard has already agreed a contract with Real Madrid, according to the Daily Star.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer stands to earn a cool £2million if he steers Manchester United into the top four and seals a Champions League spot, reports The Sun.
