Transfer news, rumours - LIVE: Liverpool to confirm Alisson, Manchester United set for spending spree plus Arsenal, Chelsea and Spurs latest

The Premier League’s summer transfer window is open with Liverpool, Manchester United and Arsenal set to be busier than ever.

Liverpool enjoyed success in the Champions League this year and their quest to end their league title drought in 2019 will be bolstered by the arrival of Naby Keita from RB Leipzig. He will not be the last new face on Merseyside, however, with Monaco's Fabinho already in. Roma's Alisson is next and could Lyon's Nabil Fekir follow? At United Jose Mourinho looks set to spend big again as he targets reinforcements in his bid to haul in record-breaking Manchester City next season. He's got Fred but another central midfield player is high on his list with a big money move for Real Madrid's Gareth Bale not out the question.

For the first time in over two decades Arsenal head into the offseason with a new manager at the helm. That man is former PSG boss Unai Emery after a stunning 11th hour change of heart at the Emirates and he already has four new signings and plenty more on the way with more on his shopping list. Chelsea have a new manager themselves after appointing Maurizio Sarri with the future of Eden Hazard high on his agenda but across London Mauricio Pochettino won't be leaving Tottenham Hotspur after signing a new five-year deal.

We will have all the latest news, views, rumours, gossip and done deals right here so don't touch that dial.

MANCHESTER UNITED NEWS
17:00

Alexis Sanchez has indicated that his visa issue has been resolved and he will soon join up with his Manchester United teammates on their pre-season tour of the United States.

United were forced to leave Sanchez in Manchester after the Chilean was denied clearance to join the rest of the squad on the trip to the US, having accepted a 16-month suspended jail sentence in Spain for tax fraud earlier this year.

US law rules that no person found guilty of fraud can be granted a visa to enter the country from overseas, but United were hopeful that Sanchez would be granted special dispensation to join up with his teammates through the waiver system.

And in a story posted on his official Instagram account, Sanchez hinted that he will soon be part of United’s tour squad after completing a solo fitness session at Carrington.

French forward Robise scored seven times for Saints' under-18s last season having joined from Reims in 2017.

Full-back Ledwidge and midfielder Brennan, who are both Irish, also enjoyed successful debut seasons for the under-18 side in 2017-18.

Everton are braced for a third bid from RB Leipzig for Ademola Lookman.

The Bundesliga side have so far had two offers rejected to sign the 20-year-old but are preparing a third bid this week to break the deadlock.

Everton want £20million for the player they paid Charlton Athletic an initial £8million for in January 2017.

So far Leipzig have only offered £12m plus add-ons and then £14m plus add-ons, both of which Everton have rejected.

But Leipzig are expected to make a third bid this week, which they hope will be close enough to Everton’s valuation to sign the player.

Roma's sporting director Monchi has stressed selling Alisson "would not show a lack of ambition" as he confirmed the player was in Liverpool on Thursday.

Press Association Sport understands Liverpool have agreed to meet Roma's valuation of 75 million euros (approximately £67m) for Alisson, a figure which would make the 25-year-old Brazil international the most expensive goalkeeper in history.

On Wednesday, Italian website Forza Roma published a video which it said showed Alisson at Rome's Ciampino airport. It said he was preparing to board a private jet to Manchester and was on his way to Liverpool for a medical.

Speaking on Thursday at a press conference to present Roma's summer signing Justin Kluivert, Monchi was quoted on the Serie A club's official twitter feed as saying: "We haven't finalised anything yet (with Alisson).

"But it is true that the negotiations are advanced and he's over in Liverpool now."

Adam Rooney says the ambition shown by Salford is the reason why he has decided to swap Aberdeen for England's fifth tier.

The Irishman has been part of an Aberdeen side which has finished best of the rest in Scotland for four straight years but will now be plying his trade in the Vanarama National League after signing a three-year deal.

Salford are part owned by former Manchester United stars Phil and Gary Neville, Nicky Butt, Paul Scholes and Ryan Giggs and the Class of '92 heroes have big plans to transform the club into a Football League outfit.

And those blueprints were enough to convince him to drop down the English league ladder.

"It wasn't easy, but I just felt my time was coming to an end here and the opportunity came up at Salford," Rooney told the Aberdeen website. "I spoke to my family about it and I felt it would be a good opportunity for something new.

"I wasn't keen to go somewhere else in Scotland and the move (to Salford) is something I'm really looking forward to taking part in and hopefully making a name for myself there."

The futures of Eden Hazard and Thibaut Courtois are top of the agenda, with both players pursued by Real Madrid, and neither giving a clear indication yet that they are desperate to stay at Chelsea. Real’s negotiations to sign Courtois are already progressing towards a £35m agreement.

But Sarri was pointedly relaxed about the issue at his Stamford Bridge press conference on Wednesday afternoon, insisting that he would not even need to speak to Hazard and Courtois before their scheduled return to Cobham.

Even though that return will be just a few days before the transfer window shuts.
