Transfer news, rumours - LIVE: Manchester United make final offer for Toby Alderweireld, Mateo Kovacic to Chelsea, Barcelona bid for Paul Pogba plus Arsenal, Liverpool & latest gossip

The Premier League's summer transfer window is nearly at an end with Manchester United, Chelsea and Tottenham still set to spend big before Thursday's deadline.

Liverpool have been this summer's biggest spenders with no fewer than four new arrivals so far. Goalkeeper Alisson is the headline-grabber with the Reds shelling out a world-record fee for the Brazilian. Nabil Fekir won't be joining him though after an 11th hour U-turn earlier in the window. Manchester United have a couple of new faces but Jose Mourinho wants at least one more before the window shuts. Tottenham's Toby Alderweireld is his No 1 target but could a late move for Bayern Munich's Jerome Boateng or Leicester's Harry Maguire be easier to get over the line?

Champions Manchester City have their eyes on one more addition too despite their all-too-comfortable Community Shield win over Chelsea to start their season. For the Blues they need more than just one more with a number of targets in place with outgoings in the form of Thibaut Courtois and Eden Hazard not out the question too as the clock ticks down.

We will have all the latest news, views, rumours, gossip and done deals right here so don't touch that dial.

Boss Brendan Rodgers anticipates the Celtic board rejecting any bid for Dedryck Boyata.

The Northern Irishman confirmed that Fulham's offer for the 27-year-old Belgium defender had been knocked back, with the fee reported as £9million.

"He is a player that we don't want to lose. We know he is in the last year of his deal.

"He has been a fantastic player for me in my time here, he had an excellent World Cup when he played.

"He is clearly a player of value and at this point in time for us he is very important and so the club rejected that.

"At this stage it would be pretty difficult for us to sell him because there is not a replacement there.

"If you lose someone of that quality then the very least you need to have is someone of similar quality coming in and that is not the case at this moment.

"From the business side of the football, we need to make that work. But from a the football perspective we don't need to sell any players.

"We have had two seasons of Champions League football and the club being on a high.

"I would anticipate that anything that would come in would be rejected."
