Transfer news, rumours - LIVE: Arsenal and Liverpool boost in Adrien Rabiot chase, Manchester United step up Anthony Martial talks, Chelsea, Spurs latest plus gossip

The Premier League's January transfer window is nearly upon us with Manchester United, Arsenal and Tottenham all set to be busy.

Liverpool were the summer's biggest spenders with no fewer than four new arrivals. Goalkeeper Alisson was the headline-grabber with Brazilian proving worth every penny of the world-record fee the Reds shelled out for the Brazilian. Could long-term target Nabil Fekir join him next month? United got a couple of new faces in through the door in the summer but it hasn't made a difference with Jose Mourinho fighting for his job after a disastrous start to the season. Will he spend his way out of trouble in the January sales. Champions Manchester City are in the thick of the title race again but may be tempted back into the market for one more big money signing while Tottenham, Chelsea and Arsenal could all choose to dip their toes in the water as they battle for an all-important top four spot.

We will have all the latest news, views, rumours, gossip and done deals right here so don't touch that dial.

Let's start with some news from France, shall we?

Paris Saint-Germain have confirmed that Adrien Rabiot will not be signing a new contract and will be leaving the club on a free at the end of the year.

The France international is sure to get some admiring glances from the Premier League with Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelsea all credited with interest in the past.

Manchester City defender Vincent Kompany is wanted by Barcelona, according to The Sun.

It is thought the Spanish side are interested in bringing the 32-year-old, who is out of contract in July, to the Nou Camp to add some experience to their back four.

Manchester United are showing interest in Middlesbrough winger Marcus Tavernier, the Daily Mail says.

Scouts have watched the 19-year-old in action in recent weeks as the club consider bolstering their options for their under-23 squad, the paper reports.

MANCHESTER UNITED NEWS

Anthony Martial's agent is "very pessimistic" over contract talks with Manchester United despite the club triggering a one-year extension on Monday.

The 23-year-old's deal was due to expire in the summer but United's option meant there was never a realistic prospect of him leaving the club for nothing with the France international now tied to the club until 2020.

Last month, United made a similar move to extend goalkeeper David De Gea's commitment to the club for a further 12 months.

The club have been engaged in talks with Martial for some time but despite Monday's extension his agent, Philippe Lamboley, says the two parties remain a long way apart in negotiations.

Manchester City are set to return for long-time target Isco in the January window.

AS report that initial contact has been made between City and a player Pep Guardiola has long since coveted.

The Spanish international is enduring a tough time under Santi Solari and City could be set to capitalise next month.

One to watch.

Liverpool are considering a bid for Brighton midfielder Pascal Gross, the Daily Mirror reports.

The paper says Reds boss Jurgen Klopp is weighing up a £15million move for the 27-year-old as he looks to strengthen his squad for their Premier League title bid.

Chelsea have held talks over a potential move for Napoli right-back Elseid Hysaj, the Daily Mail reports.

The 24-year-old Albania international, who has previously worked with Blues boss Maurizio Sarri, is valued at £45million, according to the paper.

Chelsea could agree the deal in January but allow him to finish the season in Italy, it adds.

NEWCASTLE NEWS
Newcastle are ready to revive their bid for Benfica midfielder Andreas Samaris when the transfer window reopens, according to the Daily Mirror.

Rafa Benitez made a summer enquiry about the 29-year-old but was put off by the £10million asking price, the paper says.

However, Samaris is set to be out of contract at the end of the season.

FULHAM NEWS
Fulham are preparing for a January move for Leicester's Islam Slimani, according to the Daily Telegraph.

Manchester City, Barcelona and Tottenham are also said to be tracking the Lyon player.

LEICESTER NEWS
West Brom are reportedly interested in signing Leicester's Andy King on loan in January to add energy to their midfield.

King is keen to leave Leicester once the winter window opens after being left out of the side's Premier League squad and Carabao Cup games, the Daily Mail reports.

West Brom boss Darren Moore is said to see the Wales international as an ideal signing when the window opens.

EVERTON NEWS

The Daily Mirror says reports in France suggest the Ligue 1 side are eyeing up Arsenal's Nacho Monreal and Liverpool's Alberto Moreno.

EVERTON NEWS
Everton defender Mason Holgate is reportedly set to go out on loan in January.

The Daily Mirror claims the Toffees have already received interest from Premier League and Championship clubs ahead of the window opening next month.

The 22-year-old signed a five-year deal with Everton a year ago but has fallen out of favour under Marco Silva.

WEST HAM NEWS
Manchester City and Borussia Dortmund have been watching West Ham’s Reece Oxford as they consider a January bid, according to reports.

The Daily Mirror says representatives from both clubs were at a Hammers under-23 match against Chelsea, while Hoffenheim scouts were also in attendance.

MANCHESTER UNITED NEWS

Roy Keane claimed that Manchester United will sell Paul Pogba next summer after the midfielder watched Sunday’s 3-1 defeat to rivals Liverpool from the substitutes’ bench.

Pogba was not called upon by Jose Mourinho as two deflected second-half goals from Xherdan Shaqiri gave Liverpool a vital win at Anfield, after Jesse Lingard had capitalised on Alisson’s mistake to cancel out Sadio Mane’s clinical opener.

Tensions between Pogba and Mourinho have dominated United’s chaotic season, and after the game Keane said it will soon be time for his former club to cut their losses on the Frenchman.
