Real Madrid, who tried to sign the Dutch international last summer, are looking to take him on loan with the view of it becoming a permanent transfer in July 2022.
City have not made move for Messi but PSG have made contact with his representatives
Spanish outlet Diario AS reports that PSG have made contact with Messi’s representatives regarding a move as they seek to capitalise on the uncertainty over his future.
Lionel Messi has officially left Barcelona courtesy of his contract expiring without a renewal, but City have not made a move for him yet.
Chelsea move for Saul
Chelsea have made their first move in the pursuit of Atletico Madrid midfielder Saul, who is attracting the interest of Liverpool and Manchester United.
The Spaniard has become a key player for Diego Simeone, making 33 appearances as Atletico won their first La Liga title for seven years.
He is capable of playing across the midfield, having been selected on both wings, as a holder and through the middle in the season just gone.
Varane 'signs pre-agreement' with United
Real Madrid defender Raphael Varane has reached a pre-agreement to sign for United on a five-year contract worth €12m (£10.3m) per year, report ABC Deportes .
The Spanish outlet say Los Blancos made an offer for four years at a rate of €7m (£6m), and although the Red Devils have become frontrunners, an agreement between the two clubs is yet to be made.
The 28-year-old is said to be hoping to negotiate the move in two weeks and not start the pre-season with Madrid but as a United player.
Liverpool and Arsenal after Sanches
Liverpool are 'particularly' interested in signing Renato Sanches this summer after his brilliant season with Lille and Portugal, according to French outlet Onze Mondial .
Sanches, 23, helped Lille to the Ligue 1 title before impressing on his country's run to the last 16 of Euro 2020.
The Reds are believed to be searching for midfielders to fill the void left by Georginio Wijnaldum, who left for Paris Saint-Germain on a free transfer last month.
But the report claims they will face competition from Arsenal if they choose to move for Sanches, who has two years remaining on his contract with Lille.
Billy Gilmour joins Norwich on loan
One player who has left Stamford Bridge is Billy Gilmour.
The Scot has joined Norwich on a season-long loan, with his mam bizarrely claiming to be such a big Rangers fan that she couldn't hold the green part of a Canaries scarf.
Crystal Palace hoping to sign Ryan Christie
