Transfer listed Airdrieonians defender comes in for early training as he fights for Diamonds future

Airdrieonians boss Ian Murray has praised the efforts of exiled defender Jonathan Page as the Diamonds prepare for pre-season training.

The New Broomfield outfit start back on June 15, but gaffer Murray has held voluntary sessions for players ahead of the return of all of the squad.

Page, who is currently on the transfer list, has impressed the manager by coming back to train early this term.

He told the “Both Ryan Conroy and Jonathan Page are good boys.

"They are on the transfer list because they are no in the immediate plans, but things can change very quickly in football.

“Jonathan has come in for the voluntary sessions to make sure he is ready, and to be that bit further ahead fitness wise.

“There hasn’t been a huge interest in them both to be brutally honest, but credit to the boys who have come in early to make sure they are fit.

“Some of the boys are on holiday but it will be good to get the group together and work on a few things this Saturday.”
