Transfer latest, Emi Martinez sale and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang contract: Arsenal live Q&A

Good afternoon and welcome to our latest Arsenal Q&A with football.london club writer Art de Roche.

As usual, it's been a manic 24 hours for the Gunners, leaving much to be talked about. The signing of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang's new three-year deal was finally confirmed on Tuesday [September 15] to ease the worries of fans heading into the new season.

Emi Martinez's departure to Aston Villa was announced on Wednesday [September 16] morning. The 28-year-old spent 10 years at the club, waiting patiently for an opportunity that finally came in June and after proving himself reliable enough to be a Premier League No.1. he moved in search of more playing time.

Furthermore, speculation surrounding the future of Folarin Balogun has resurfaced after Sheffield United manager Chris Wilder's public comments that the Blades are interested in his services.

Aubameyang signs new Arsenal deal

"Yeah, we made an enquiry regarding the young man at Arsenal. That's left with the CEO at our club and at Arsenal," he told Yorkshire Live.

"I wanted to affect different areas and felt we have done. I wanted to bring young players in, which we have done. The last one that we have talked about at the top of the pitch we want attributes that suit us and hopefully move us forward."

In other matters, Arsenal began their 2020/21 Premier League campaign with a convincing 3-0 victory over Fulham. Alexandre Lacazette, Gabriel Magalhaes and Aubameyang were the scorers while Willian impressed by assisting each goal on the day.

The Gunners will be looking to build on this momentum as they take to the Emirates for the first time this season against West Ham on Saturday [September 19].

The Hammers got off to a rough start to their campaign, falling to a 2-0 loss at home to Newcastle United in their opening game.
