Transfer deadline day at Newcastle United: What next for head coach Steve Bruce?

Newcastle United will unveil Emil Krafth on deadline day and will spend the closing hours of business working on another addition.

However, head coach Steve Bruce went into the biggest day of the year for transfers knowing that the majority of his work was done and dusted.

As the Chronicle revealed yesterday Krafth arrived at the training ground to complete his medical and seal a £5million deal from Ligue 1 side Amiens.

United boss Bruce has stated there are still one or two things "bubbling" away in the background at Benton but he is expected to meet the media on Friday to declare he is pleased with his summer shopping.

Bruce only arrived at Newcastle in mid-July but has managed to net Joelinton , Allan Saint-Maximin, Jake Turner, Kyle Scott, Jetro Willems and Krafth in a short space of time.

The majority of his work on deadline day will be to trim the squad with Rolando Aarons, Achraf Lazaar, Jacob Murphy and Jack Colback in the mix for outgoing deals.

Colback is believed to be back on Nottingham Forest's radar after striking a good rapport at the City Ground in the last couple of seasons.
