A seaside East Lothian town has been named the UK’s most relaxing place to visit - and it's no wonder.
North Berwick topped the list of the top ten most tranquil towns to call home in the UK, scoring highly thanks to its peaceful location and low scores for nightlife and crime, reports the Daily Record.
The study, by Delamere Health, ranked 30 of the most popular towns around the UK who looked at the number of relaxing facilities available, with towns ranking highly for the least number of nightlife spots and incidents of crime.
North Berwick topped the list with a score of 57, followed by Ilkley in Yorkshire in second place with 51. Meanwhile, not far from Edinburgh, Melrose in the Borders came in third with 50.
A spokesperson from Delamere said: "Getting away from the stresses of everyday life to somewhere truly relaxing can be a tonic for our mental wellbeing.
"With this in mind, the team at Delamere Health have delved into the data to reveal the top 10 most relaxing staycation destinations in the UK."

The UK towns were ranked on ten different factors, including the number of cafes, spas, population, green space, beaches, walking trails, libraries, museums, crime, and nightlife.
