Tramshed announces Wales' first unrestricted club night in over a year

A Cardiff music venue has announced Wales' first club night after almost a year and a half's absence.

Tramshed will host 'Shangri-La: The First Dance' on Saturday, August 7 with no restrictions once Wales moves to alert level zero.

The event, in Grangetown, will host 700 attendees with "no restrictions" between two rooms and promises a lineup of "Cardiff's finest DJs".

The event is for 18+ and tickets start at £15.70.

The club announced the event through a tweet on their social media saying: "WE'RE BACK! We finally have the green light... all systems go for Sat 7th August for the very first club show in Wales in 18 months! NO restrictions, 700 capacity, 2 rooms of Cardiff’s finest DJs."

The event is allowed to go ahead as restrictions ease in Wales.

As of Saturday, 7th August, Wales will be moving to alert level zero, lifting a majority of our safety measures.

Welsh Government have confirmed the level zero rules are as follows:

  • remove legal restrictions on the number of people who can meet indoors, including in private homes, public places or at events
  • all businesses and premises can open, including nightclubs
  • people should still work from home wherever possible
  • face coverings will remain a legal requirement indoors, with the exception of hospitality premises.

As has happened previously with restrictions easing, the Government will keep the measures under review. A spokesperson for Welsh Government said: "Carrying out a coronavirus risk assessment will continue to be a legal requirement for businesses, employers and event organisers."
