Trams temporarily halted in Bulwell following concerns for man's safety

Trams around Bulwell were briefly brought to a halt while Nottinghamshire Police responded to concerns for a man's safety.

Police were called to the Highbury Vale tram stop shortly before 1.40pm on Monday, April 20 following the reports.

NET Tram, which run's the city's trams, confirmed on its Twitter page that there were delays in the area as a result of the incident.

However, police say the incident was brought to a safe conclusion and the man is receiving support.

A Nottinghamshire Police spokesperson said: “Officers were called to Highbury Vale tram stop in Bulwell shortly before 1.40pm today following concerns for a man’s safety.

"The incident was swiftly brought to a safe conclusion. The man is now receiving support and the line has been re-opened.”

A spokesperson for NET also confirmed to Nottinghamshire Live that delays on the line have been resolved and trams are running as normal.
