Trams stopped at Victoria station after 'medical emergency'

Trams have been stopped at Victoria after a 'medical emergency'.

Manchester Metrolink has diverted trams away from the station after the incident, thought to have happened at around 2pm.

Tickets are being accepted on bus routes.

Trams affected include: Rochdale - Monsall, East Didsbury - Etihad, Altrincham - St Peters Square, Bury - Queens Road, Ashton - Picadilly.

Tweeting, Manchester Metrolink said trams are now not running from Bury to Shudehill either.

Replying to somebody called Amber, the company said: "Passengers can use their tickets on the following bus services: 41, 59, 97, 98, 135 408 and 409."

Stagecoach Manchester and Wigan also tweeted to say that tickets were being accepted on route numbers: 43, 85, 86, 101, 103, 142 and 143.
