Tramore betting tips: Peter O'Hehir's selections for Sunday's horse racing action

Having bagged a notable double at Limerick on Thursday, Eric McNamara might strike again with top-weight Oscar Lantern in the Vee Bistro @ Tramore Racecourse Handicap Chase in Tramore tomorrow.

A 10-year-old, with only one win to his credit from 21 runs over fences, Oscar Lantern hasn’t raced since finishing third to Peacock’s Secret at Punchestown in January.

In his previous starts, he had filled fourth spot behind Gunfire Reef at Punchestown and third to Seskin Flyer at Limerick’s Christmas meeting.

With the McNamara team in such good form, and just 2lb higher than when recording his only win over the bigger obstacles at Punchestown in January of last year, Oscar Lantern’s cause will also be helped by the assistance of the trainer’s talented son, 7lb claimer Conor. And he gets the vote over King’s Song.

The Mick Winters-trained Littlestickarubarb, bolted-up by 14 lengths on her second start over fences at Clonmel and looks a more accomplished chaser than hurdler.

Given an initial chase mark of 109 and with Brian Hayes again on board, the seven-year-old is preferred to top-weight Effernock Lad in
the Kasbar Waterford @ Tramore Racecourse Handicap Chase.

In the maiden hurdle action, Ontheropes, representing Willie Mullins, above, and Cheveley Park Stud, appeals on his hurdling bow, in the BetVictor
Free Entry Maiden Hurdle on the back of a fourth to Fire Away in a Wexford bumper.

And hurdling debutante Villa Moura, from the local, in-form yard of Henry de Bromhead, inset, appeals in the opening mares maiden.
