Metrolink frequency will plummet to a tram every 20 minutes and services will terminate earlier as passengers follow Government advice and avoid public transport.
Patronage on the trams in Greater Manchester has now reduced by around 95 per cent amid the coronavirus crisis.
As a result of this and staffing reductions, transport bosses will, from Monday, reduce services to every 20 minutes.
New measures also mean operating hours will be reduced to run from 6am to 10pm Monday to Saturday and 7am to 10pm on Sundays.
It's a sign that people are following Government guidance to stay indoors.
The move by Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM) follows last month's decision to expand the interval from every six to every 12 minutes.
And it follows bus and rail operators' decision to slash timetables to cope with reduced demand as well as staff absences.
The Government has advised against all but essential travel.
Reductions in services are among a raft of changes on public transport.
