Trams were delayed as police dealt with 'abusive male' at Nottingham Railway Station stop

Nottingham trams were delayed following a police incident.

The force was called to the Nottingham Railway Station stop this morning (Sunday, March 1) just before 11am, following reports of an abusive passenger.

The tram was stopped while police removed the man and then gave him a warning about his behaviour.

Tram operator NET warned passengers about the delays on its official Twitter page. The post, sent at 10.48am, read: "We currently are experiencing delays to services following a police incident at Nottingham Station".

Nottinghamshire Police confirmed the incident and told Nottinghamshire Live: "There was an abusive male on the tram. The tram was stopped while officers dealt with a male. He was removed and warned about his abusive behaviour"

A frequent Sunday service was resumed at about 12.20pm.
