'Traitor, money over trophies!' - Celtic fans react as Kieran Tierney closes in on Arsenal move

Kieran Tierney is a medical and personal terms away from becoming an Arsenal player.

But news of this transfer hasn't gone down too well amongst some Celtic supporters.

The saga which has been running for pretty much the entire summer is set to come to an end this afternoon as the Gunners have until 5pm to complete the £25m deal for the Scotland international.

Tierney will have his medical at London Colney and is expected to sign a five-year contract at the Emirates Stadium and will challenge Nacho Monreal and Sead Kolasinac for the left-back spot under Unai Emery this season.

Having not featured for the Hoops in pre-season, there's no guarantee that the defender will be available for Arsenal's opening game of the new Premier League campaign away at Newcastle United on Sunday.

Although, fears about his injury status were eased by Celtic head coach Neil Lennon earlier in the week.

"I know these deals can get done at a minute to twelve," he said.

"I'd be surprised if there wasn't another offer for Kieran, but delighted.

"He'll be fit in a week or two. He still has some adductor pain, but I think the pubic problem is starting to settle and he’s over the double hernia."

Following confirmation that a deal had been agreed between Arsenal and Celtic, John Hartson - formerly of both clubs - sent out a classy message to Tierney, while Lennon wished the left-back well.

However, not everybody connected to the Hoops are happy.

Take a look at how some Celtic fans have reacted to the transfer development on Twitter...

Although, there are many Celtic fans who have nothing against Tierney...
