Trains still delayed this morning following rocks falling on the line at Bishopton

Some trains moving through Renfrewshire will be delayed for the second day in a row today due to falling rocks from a cliff alongside the line.

Trains between Bishopton and Langbank on the Glasgow to Gourock/Wemyss Bay route are affected.

ScotRail say that trains travelling along this line will be delayed by at least 10 minutes whilst Network Rail engineers continue to assess the situation.

"After investigation, we’ve found an issue with a boundary wall which we’ll repair at the end of service - it’s a challenging area to access while trains are running.

"We’re aiming to make full repairs overnight, with services returning to line speed tomorrow."

However, inspections are continuing this morning and trains are still delayed.
