Trains running through Paisley have been disrupted due to "customers causing disturbance".

ScotRail confirmed services have been delayed as a result of the incident, and British Transport Police are on their way to Paisley Gilmour Street station to tackle the incident.

ScotRail advised: Services through #PaisleyGilmourStreet are being delayed due to customers causing a disturbance on a train. Officers from @BTPWestScot are on their way to the station.

It is unclear at this stage how long delays and disruption is expected to last.

British Transport Police confirmed to Glasgow Live: "Officers were called to Paisley Gilmour Street station at 10.23am today following a report of an aggressive passenger.

"It is believed the passenger pulled the emergency passcom, causing the train to come to a stop, and then left the service.
