Trains off as person hit on the line between Glasgow and Paisley

Train services between Paisley and Glasgow remain in chaos this morning after someone was hit on the line.

The route has only just reopened after the incident at 6.20am.

But there is likely to be disruption on the service until at least 10.30am as trains were out of position.

Buses had to be drafted in for passengers to get to the city and all Ayrshire stations on the Ayr, Largs and Wemyss Bay lines.

Network Rail said: "Lines have reopened between Paisley Gilmour Street and Glasgow Central as the emergency services are now safely clear of the line. Trains running between these stations may still be cancelled, delayed or revised whilst service recovers.

"Disruption is expected until 10.30am."

Buses were running between Gilmour Street and Glasgow Central and McGills were also accepting rail tickets on its number 17 route.
