Trains from Leeds to York ending at Horsforth after tree falls on line

A number of trains running between Leeds and York, in both directions, are disrupted due to a fallen tree.

Northern Rail announced that disruption on the line is expected until 6pm, with cancellations possible.

The tree has fallen near Hornbeam Park, blocking the line from Horsforth to Harrogate, with services from Leeds toward York now terminating at Horsforth.

Northern Rail said: "A tree has fallen on the line near Hornbeam Park blocking the line from Horsforth to Harrogate. Services from Leeds towards Knaresborough/York will terminate at Horsforth.

"Network Rail staff are expected to be on site at approximately 16:20 to assess the situation."

Current disruptions listed on their website are the following services, which will all be terminated at Horsforth:

  • 15:29 Leeds to York, due 16:45
  • 15:59 Leeds to Knaresborough, due 16:49
  • 16:06 Knaresborough to Leeds, due 16:53
  • 16:29 Leeds to York, due 17:43

Travellers delayed by 15 minutes or more are eligible to apply for compensation.
