Trains were disrupted last night after a wild boar was spotted by the railway line at Wishaw.
Scotrail confirmed the unusual site, Tweeting a photo of the 'brute'.
Trains running between Glasgow Central station and Lanark were affected as a result, before the boar was safely ushered away from the railway by police and Network Rail staff.
Scotrail staff originally advised a pig was responsible for the suspended trains, later confirming it was indeed a boar responsible for the havoc.
They said: "There's a pig (yes, you read that right) on the line at Wishaw.
"Police and Network Rail are trying to capture it right now, so our Glasgow Central - Lanark services won't be calling at Wishaw for the moment", before later Tweeting: "Folks, I've just been advised that the beast involved is in fact a wild boar."
After the unusual ordeal, trains were back up and running once again by 10pm.
