Trains have been unable to run between Manchester Piccadilly and Manchester Airport stations this afternoon due to 'trespassers' on the line.
Network Rail said trains were affected while emergency services 'deal with an incident'.
Service updates on Northern Rail's website said the lines had been blocked by 'trespassers on the railway' between these stations.

This led to services being cancelled, delayed or diverted.
Trains began to be affected from around 2.15pm with the disruption cleared around 3pm.
The 12:58 from Blackpool North to Manchester Airport had to be terminated at Manchester Piccadilly, the 14:46 from Manchester Airport to Blackpool North started from Manchester Piccadilly instead, and the 13:27 from Liverpool Lime Street to Crewe was diverted and did not call at Mauldeth Road, Burnage, East Didsbury, Gatley, Heald Green, Manchester Airport and Styal.
A Northern Tweet said: "Disruption caused by trespassers on the railway between Manchester Piccadilly and Manchester Airport has now ended. Services are no longer affected by this problem."
British Transport Police have been approached for a comment.
