Trains running in and out of Liverpool on the Northern and Chester and Ellesmere Port lines have been cancelled today - with roadworks in the city centre affecting all replacement bus services.
Northern line trains will only run between Hall Road and Southport, and Aintree and Ormskirk today, with replacement buses running between Hunts Cross, Moorfields and Hall Road, Moorfields and Kirkby, and Moorfields and Aintree.
Trains on the Chester and Ellesmere Port lines will run between Hooton and Ellesmere Port and Chester, and Birkenhead Central and Liverpool City Centre. Replacement buses will run between Hooton and Hamilton Square.

Merseyrail has warned that, due to roadworks in the city centre as part of Liverpool City Council’s Connectivity Scheme, replacement buses will no longer stop at Liverpool Central or Liverpool Lime Street, and will stop at Moorfields and James Street only.
Further disruption will take place later this month. On the weekend of January 21 and 22, all Northern line trains running from Liverpool Central will be cancelled, with replacement buses between Sandhills and Hunts Cross.
Trains running between Sandhills and Ormskirk, Kirkby and Southport will run to a 30 minute timetable, with replacement buses between Hunts Cross, Moorfields and Sandhills.
On January 21, 22, 28 and 29, trains will run between Birkenhead North and Liverpool Central on the New Brighton Line, with replacement buses between Birkenhead North and New Brighton.
