There is major disruption on the line between London and Bristol after a person has been hit by a train.

The incident happened between London Paddington and Slough around 6pm today (June 28).

Passengers have been forced to board South Western trains running from London Waterloo to reach Reading where they can then continue their trip to Bristol.

Trains running from Bristol Temple Meads to Cardiff, Weston-super-Mare, Taunton and Plymouth have all been cancelled.

A spokesperson for Network Rail said: "A person has been hit by a train between London Paddington and Slough. All lines have reopened; however, Great Western Railway services to and from London Paddington remain majorly disrupted.

"Trains may be delayed by up to 90 minutes, cancelled or revised

"We anticipate that disruption will continue until the end of the day."
