Trains cancelled after emergency services rush to 'ongoing incident' near Glasgow station

Trains have been cancelled today after emergency services were called to an " ongoing incident" near Glasgow.

ScotRail took to social media to announce trains have been suspended between Stepps and Springburn which will affect services between Cumbernauld and Glasgow Queen Street.

Passengers are being advised their tickets will be accepted on First buses between the two stations.

It is not known the nature of the incident, but the line will be closed until midday.

A statement on Twitter reads: "We are working closely with the emergency services due to an ongoing incident between Stepps and Springburn.

"At present we have had to suspend our Cumbernauld - Queen Street train services. As soon as we have more information we will let you know."

British Transport Police have been contacted for comment.
