Training ground picture hints at new Manchester United first team squad member

A Manchester United training ground picture has hinted that teenage midfielder Dylan Levitt joined the first team for training on Saturday morning.

A number of the first team squad, who appeared to have just finished their morning training session, were spotted at the side of the pitch watching the Under-18s in their Premier League Cup match against Brighton at Carrington, which ended 1-1.

The sight of first team players watching the younger teams is nothing new and last month Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Sir Alex Ferguson were spotted watching with Michael Carrick watching United's 1-1 draw with Middlesbrough.

Carrick was there again along with first team regulars Jesse Lingard and Marcus Rashford and a number of Under-23 youngsters who have been recently promoted to the first team were also with them.

James Garner, Tahith Chong, Angel Gomes and Brandon Williams were all spotted but it was Levitt who was the surprise amongst the group.

The 19-year-old impressed for Neil Wood's Under-23s on Friday night at Old Trafford in front of a watching Solskjaer and it appears as though the Norwegian liked what he saw as Levitt was amongst the group who had wandered over after training.

Levitt has trained with the first team before but has yet to be called up to a match day squad and Solskjaer is in the midst of an injury crisis in midfield with Scott McTominay, Paul Pogba and Nemanja Matic all ruled out for Sunday's trip to Bramall Lane in the Premier League.
