Training Camp 2019: Rookie WR Riley Ridley suffers hamstring injury

When practices get underway at an NFL training camp, injuries are usually not far behind and the Bears are no exception to the rule. Following the first practice of training camp, coach Matt Nagy revealed rookie WR Riley Ridley suffered a hamstring injury and could not finish the session.

Nagy, speaking to reporters, noted “things like that will happen” when talking about players returning to football activities following the offseason and didn’t seem too concerned with Ridley’s injury. Ridley will work with the training staff, but no timetable has been set for a return to the field.

Ridley was selected by the Bears the 126th pick in the fourth round of the 2019 NFL Draft. He played three seasons at the University of Georgia and tallied 43 receptions for 559 yards and nine touchdowns during his junior year before turning pro.

The Bears hold their first open practice of training camp Saturday, July 27th beginning at 8:15AM at Olivet Nazarene University in Bourbonnais, IL.
