Graham Moody, a trainee reporter with the Croydon Guardian with less than a year's experience, persuaded a judge to lift a section 39 order which prevented the identification of two men convicted of rape. Crown court judge Stephen Waller was so impressed with Moody's letter, saying it was in the public interest for them to be known, that he lifted the ban. (Via holdthefrontpage)
