A new batch of firefighters will be recruited in the North East soon - and you could be one of them.
Tyne and Wear Fire and Rescue service says it will reopen recruitment for trainee full-time firefighters in February.
While any adult can apply, Tyne and Wear Fire and Rescue Service is hoping a high proportion of applicants will be women.

"It is nearly time to unlock your ambition and help us protect Tyne and Wear and the people who call it home," says Tyne and Wear Fire and Rescue service.
"Regardless of age, gender, race, religion, or background, there is a home for you here at Team TW (Tyne and Wear).
"Our last recruit had the highest proportion of women we have ever had and we want to keep up that momentum. It is not just a job for the boys.
"You don't need to be a hero. You just need to have a burning passion to help create the safest community."
Further details about the application process will be shared in the next couple of weeks.
The fire service adds: "To apply to become a firefighter, you must be at least 17 years and six months old. Full training is provided and we welcome applications from everyone, regardless of gender, religion or ethnicity.
"We need people who are resilient, confident and physically fit, as well as good communicators and team workers. Because firefighters work closely with all of our local communities, they must also be compassionate and committed to diversity."
According to the fire service's recruitment page, firefighter applicants will have to complete a 1,000 supporting statement on why they are suited to the job. They must also pass online tests, practical assessments and fitness requirements including running 1.5 miles in less than 12 minutes.
