Train surfer, 19, burned alive after being electrocuted on illegal ride

A teenage train surfer was burned alive after he was “electrocuted” on a 155mph-an-hour high speed electric train in Russia.

Shocking footage shows 19-year-old Dmitry Mikhailenko's body burning on the roof of a carriage after it stopped en route to St Petersburg to Moscow.

The train was stopped after passengers reported the smell of “burning meat” in a carriage.

The driver stopped the train and spotted the daredevil and the roof burning.

Passengers ran out onto a platform in panic, according to reports.

Mr Mikhailenko was trapped on the 4,000-volt pantograph on the roof after being electrocuted.

He was dead when rescuers reached him in Tver region on August 4 according to reports.

Other train surfers have expressed fears for the safety of Anya Morozova, 20, who is thought to have been with Mr Mikhailenko.

The Russian Investigative Committee transport section has launched a full investigation into the incident.

Representative for the committee Elena Markovskaya said that the man had some “hooking”devices with him.

Russian Railways official Petr Potapov, said he caused a “short circuit” on the roof of the train.
