Person hit by a train on tracks in Fife

Rush hour train services in Fife have been disrupted after someone was hit by a train.

Passengers were told the delays in a statement on Twitter after the person was struck on the Glenrothes to Inverkeithing line.

A Scotrail spokesman said: “Unfortunately we have had reports of a passenger being struck by a train between Glenrothes and Inverkeithing, because of this services will be disrupted.

“We are working closely with emergency services and will update you once we receive more information from our staff on the ground.”

Passengers who have bought tickets have been told they can be used on local bus services instead.

No further information on the incident has been released.
