Train station sex attack in broad daylight in Hamilton sparks hunt for scar-faced man

Police are appealing for information after a woman was sexually assaulted at Hamilton West railway station.

The shocking incident occurred around 12.10pm on Friday, October 15, when a woman got off a train at platform two and walked up the stairs from the platform.

When she reached the top of the stairs, she was approached by a man who then sexually assaulted her.

The man is described as white, between 20-30 years old, of slim build, with dark hair and scars on his cheek and nose. He was wearing a black hoody with a white top underneath, and black trousers.

British Transport Police are keen to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the incident to assist their enquiries.

Witnesses, or anyone with information, can contact BTP by texting 61016 or calling 0800 40 50 40 quoting reference 290 of 15/10/21.
