Train services suspended between Gourock and Greenock after reports of person being struck by train

Train services between Gourock and Greenock have been terminated after reports of a person being struck on the track.

ScotRail staff took to Twitter earlier to update passengers on the incident.

At 1.31pm they posted: "Unfortunately, we’ve had reports of a person being struck by a train between #Gourock and Greenock.

"We’re working closely with emergency services and will update you once we receive more information.

Services between Glasgow Central and #Gourock will be terminated at and started back from Port Glasgow.

"All stations between Port Glasgow and #Gourock will not be served."

A replacement bus service has been put in place between between #Gourock and Port Glasgow.

Passengers are advised to show their valid ticket or Smartcard to the driver when they board the bus.

British Transport Police have been contacted for comment.
