Train passenger spat at by woman after refusing to move seats

A CCTV image has been released by police after a train passenger was reportedly spat on by a woman.

A man travelling on a service from Chester to to Liverpool Central Station was asked to move seats by a woman during his journey.

When he refused, it is reported the woman spat at him as she walked away.

Officers have now released a CCTV of a woman who may have information that could help their investigation.

The incident happened on June 21 between 8pm and 8.30pm.

A spokesperson for British Transport Police said to the ECHO : "Officers would like to speak to the woman in the image who may have information that could help their investigation.

Anyone who knows her is asked to contact BTP by texting 61016 or by calling 0800 40 50 40. quoting reference number 337 of 21/06/20. Alternatively, call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
