Train driver moves people to tears with personal tribute to 'amazing' Queen

A Transport for London employee has been praised for his service after sharing a heartfelt tribute for Queen Elizabeth II. The Elizabeth Line worker moved passengers to tears with the personal story he shared after announcing the death of Her Majesty. The touching moment, which was captured on camera, has since been seen by thousands of people - and brought comfort to many.

The driver's speech was recorded by @zak.alami, who later shared the clip to TikTok. He captioned the video, filmed on September 8: "A sad day for the UK." While the recording appears to begin midway through an announcement, it captures the driver's touching conclusion.

The employee, who has not been officially named, said: "... our long reigning monarch, Queen Elizabeth II has sadly passed away.

"I am sure you will join me in a moment of remembrance for an amazing lady and Queen.

"And also join with me on a personal note for me to say that it was an honour to serve my Queen for nine years in the British Army, and it will be an honour working for the Elizabeth line until I finish work."

In response, viewers were quick to thank the worker, whose speech moved many to tears.

"Wow !! This made me cry," read one comment. Another said: "This really got me."

"Protect that guy at all costs, very respectful and heartfelt," added a third.

Meanwhile, someone else wrote: "This is the most heartwarming thing i’ve seen since i found out she’d gone."

And a different viewer said "Respect. Wish we could thank him for his service too."

Well, it appears the driver may have received the kind words directed to him, as a comment was left on the video by one @ captainsammi82.

He wrote: "Zak thank you for recording this. I can keep it for ever now. And yes it was me and yes I meant retire. Got a bit emotional."
