Train disruption between Manchester and London due to electrical fault at Wembley

Trains have been experiencing disruption between Manchester and London due to an electrical fault at Wembley this morning.

National Rail confirmed that there was a loss of power to the overhead electric wires in the Wembley area on Tuesday morning.

This caused disruption between Milton Keynes Central/Watford Junction and Clapham Junction/East Croydon.

Southern services were affected.

A National Rail spokesperson confirmed that this had a 'knock-on effect' on a number of services running between Manchester Piccadilly and London stations.

He said: "As the services try to resolve themselves, this will cause a delay to the services on the same line."

All lines have reopened but disruption was expected up until 1pm.

Further delays may be present throughout the day.
