- A Greater Anglia passenger train has derailed near Wickford in Essex.
- The rear carriages of the train appear to have come off the tracks into the gravel, but remained upright.
- Basildon Council said it is understood around 40 to 45 passengers were onboard the train, which was travelling from Southend; the British Transport police said no major injuries had been reported.
- A Greater Anglia spokesperson said that all lines were blocked between Shenfield and Southend Victoria, and trains running to and from those stations were suspended until further notice.
- The incident comes less than 24 hours after another train derailed between Lewes and Haywards Heath in East Sussex, injuring 20 people, two seriously.
